Opium Bar rooftop bar in Chinatown / Yaowarat, Bangkok

1.Opium Bar

Chinatown / Yaowarat · Floor 5

Ranked No. 25 on Asia's 50 Best Bars in 2026, up from No. 43 the year before — and it earns that on the drinks rather than the address. Named for the opium den that once occupied the building, the room sits above Michelin-starred Potong in a century-old Chinatown shophouse: black lacquer, gold, very low light. Nearly fifty cocktails and mocktails, plus four house-made gins each built to the character of a different Thai region, arriving in ceramics and blown glass made by Thai artists. Cocktails from ฿410. Five floors up rather than fifty: on a list about what is in the glass, that is the right trade.

Book ahead, and note it is closed Wednesdays. Start with the house gins, and let the bar snacks come up from Potong rather than eating first.

Sato San Rooftop Bar rooftop bar in Chidlom / Ratchaprasong, Bangkok

2.Sato San Rooftop Bar

Chidlom / Ratchaprasong · Floor 32

The name is the concept: sato, Isaan's fermented sticky-rice wine, meets the Japanese honorific san — and this 32nd-floor deck opposite CentralWorld is the first bar in Bangkok to run that fusion properly. The Kyoto Sato and Sake & Longan signatures show how well rice wine takes to Japanese precision, the Mango Sticky Rice cocktail is better than it has any right to be, and drinks start around ฿200 — absurd for the quality. A perfect five-star rating from nearly nine hundred reviewers agrees.

Pair the highballs with the spicy tuna larb tartare and the tom yum tiger roll — the menu's two cultures on one table.

GIR rooftop bar in Thonglor, Bangkok

3.GIR

Thonglor · Floor 40

Forty floors up the same Thonglor tower as Tichuca, from the same team, and the exact opposite room: stone walls, dense planting and a darkness that starts at the door — named for the Indian national park it is styled after. The cocktails are the whole point, split into Wild, City and Coexistence, the Wild list built on hydrosol extractions, milk washes and fat-washed spirits. The Wild Fire — wagyu fat and corn butter washed into Michter's bourbon, ฿480 — is the one that explains the place.

Do not try to read the menu in the dark. Tell the bartenders what you like and let them steer; booking is worth it.

Lennon's rooftop bar in Ploenchit, Bangkok

4.Lennon's

Ploenchit · Floor 30

A 30th-floor speakeasy holding a 6,000-record vinyl archive you can actually pull from and hand to the staff to play, with signature cocktails composed around favourite tracks under award-winning beverage director KT Lam. Add small-batch whiskeys, custom truffles and a hidden mezzanine cigar room behind a secret door, and it's the most complete "drink as experience" room in Bangkok. Smart casual, 20+, and worth planning an evening around.

Bring your desert-island record request, then order whatever the staff pair with it.

Piscari rooftop bar in Lumphini / Wireless Road, Bangkok

5.Piscari

Lumphini / Wireless Road · Floor 23

Inside the new Andaz at One Bangkok, Piscari runs a clever two-act structure: Mediterranean aperitivo hour over Lumphini Park views until about half past six, then a nightly DJ tips it into "Supper Club mode". French chef Marc Vasseur's grilled seafood anchors the food, while the bar's Ruby Whisper — whisky and limoncello, which shouldn't work and absolutely does — headlines the list. The kicker: a hidden speakeasy behind a door inside the venue, styled like a seaside cave.

Come at five for the sunset aperitivo, then hunt down the speakeasy door for round two.

Starlight Rooftop Bar rooftop bar in Silom, Bangkok

6.Starlight Rooftop Bar

Silom · Floor 21

A decade-deep experiment in drinking the Thai herb garden, 21 floors above Surawong: galangal in the Negroni, moringa and lemongrass in the Siam Sour, a krachai foam where lesser bars settle for a citrus peel. Bangkok Night and Malai are the signatures to open with. What makes it unusual is the absence of scene — the Mercure's terrace is rarely crowded and drinks land at ฿350–460, which for a programme this considered is the quiet bargain of the list.

Ask for the herb-forward end of the menu — the krachai and galangal builds are where the decade of work shows.

ABar Rooftop rooftop bar in Phrom Phong, Bangkok

7.ABar Rooftop

Phrom Phong · Floor 38

Over a hundred gins on the top floor of the Marriott Marquis makes ABar Bangkok's definitive G&T destination — the signature serves are named after Bangkok districts like Chatuchak and Yaowarat, the smooth Sakura gin is the staff's go-to recommendation, and a proper G&T lands between ฿350 and ฿495. Focused, knowledgeable and open-air: a specialist bar that happens to have a skyline. The spicy tuna tacos with ponzu aioli are the right thing to eat alongside.

Ask the mixologists to build you a botanical G&T flight — and don't rush them; the pace here is part of the craft.

The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar rooftop bar in Chidlom / Langsuan, Bangkok

Chidlom / Langsuan · Floors 24–25

Two floors of Hotel Muse dressed as a 1920s Prohibition den, where the door will lend you pearls or a feathered headpiece before you order and at least one drink arrives in a fire extinguisher. The theatre is the point, but the recipes have a source: the signature list draws on King Rama V's European travel logs and the Golden Age menus that followed. Cocktails ฿460–550, live DJs Thursday to Saturday from 8:30 PM, and a hidden cigar lounge called The Blind Pig somewhere behind it all.

Thursday to Saturday for the DJ sets. Dress up if you want to — the props at the door are part of the deal, not a gimmick tax.

Bar.Yard rooftop bar in Chidlom / Langsuan, Bangkok

9.Bar.Yard

Chidlom / Langsuan · Floor 40

Voted Bangkok's best rooftop bar at the BK B.A.D Awards three years running (2023–2025), Bar.Yard plays it deliberately kitsch: a 1980s tiki "backyard in the sky" on the Kimpton Maa-Lai's 40th floor, where a spicy margarita with ancho chilli or a rum punch in a carved tiki mug comes with 270° of Lumphini Park below. The barbecue smoke and garden-party energy hide how seriously good the drinks are — a 4.9 TripAdvisor average across a big crowd says the joke lands.

Go early evening for the calm garden vibe; reservations are smart Thursday–Saturday when the Afro-house sets start.
